Goal: Demonstrate all the proper fundamentals of public speaking and presenting.
Role: Construct a Presentation Submission depicting who the students are and why they believe they could be a valuable asset to a campus/workplace.
Audience: A panel of Admission counselors/ a hiring committee.
Situation: The college/job a student wants to attend/get is across the country and the student must record themselves in a video
Product/Presentation: a digital Presentation Submission of the student conveying their claims in hopes of convincing the Admissions staff/hiring committee that they are the best for the position
Standards (Criteria from both rubrics - product and presentation): Presentation Rubric: enthusiasm, delivery, volume, posture/eye contact, preparedness and vocabulary iMovie Rubric: creativity, content, editing, video, audio, and attractiveness.

Students will understand that their presentation of ideas must support their claim and convey a clear and concise point.

Introduction

How many times do you have to speak in front of people? In class? At school? At home? At sporting events? Theater productions? In public? Any time you are speaking in front of an audience you are technically "public speaking". There have been many surveys done about human fear...people rank public speaking as their #1 fear...above death. Does that seem right? Unfortunately your dream school is located across the county and the only way you are going to be able to show them your Presentation Submission is by making it all accessible via technology.You must incorporate digital media elements to make this presentation possible. Public speaking is only as scary as you make it. You've utilized the tricks, followed the tips, and now understand that public speaking is about supporting clear points, adapting your presentation based on your audience, and incorporating other outside elements into your presentation to enhance the evidence of your claim.
